The Gabrielle Rousse 2008 Chardonnay

The Gabrielle Rausse 2008 Chardonnay

On Saturday, May 9th I happend to head over to the Greenwood Gourmet Grocery for a weekly wine tasting I had read about.  The tasting this week featured Gabrielle Rausse.  As  Mr. Rausse was going to be at the tasting,   I was hoping to discuss the effects of climate on his wines while tasting them (obviously).

While his wine made an appearance, unfortunately Mr. Rausse was unable to be present.   That did not impede the tasting, however.  The  best of the bunch was the 2008 Chardonnay.   Slightly sweet (but not too sweet) with hints of melon and citrus,  the unoaked wine tasted on Saturday was good enough that a bottle came home with me to have for dinner.    It was very good and I’m already looking foward to my next bottle, when ever that occasion may arise.
