Tonight for dinner we combined the best of two worlds.   

1) White Hall Vineyards 2007 Chardonnay

2) Dr. Ho’s Humble Pie Pizza.  A Fat and Sassy and Margarita Pie to be eact.   It’s one of Charlottesville’s best Pizza joints, if not the best. 

The White Hall Chardonnay pours with an excellent aroma.  Once tasted it is slightly acidic, not too sweet and a bit rough around the edges.   It turns out that a bite of Fat and Sassy and the Chardonnay go well together.  The Chardonnay flavors are smoothed a bit and the taste improves nicely.whitehall_2007_chardonnay

 

 

The  Fat and Sassy is a sauceless Pizza (which accord to the Dr’s rules means it not  a pizza at all) with roasted garlic and several cheeses.

I have yet to visit the White Hall Winery but hope to do so later this summer.  It’s quite close to where I live,  so it’s not hard to get to.
